Matthew and Ming give two oral presentations at the 63rd INMM Annual Meeting

Characterization of Shielded Special Nuclear Materials through Neutron Spectroscopy

Ming presented his work on “Boron Coated Straw-based Neutron Multiplicity Counter for Neutron Interrogation of TRISO Fueled Pebbles”, and Matthew presented the work entitled “Characterization of Shielded Special Nuclear Materials through Neutron Spectroscopy”.

Congratulations to Ming for winning the Second Place Student Paper Award!

ARISE students visit NML

ARISE students visited the NML on March 2, 2020. The purpose of the tour is to show the broader context and motivation of our research and provide an opportunity for the ARISE students to ask questions to NML members about our research but also personal motivation.

EBSS 2019

Ming attended the 2019 Exotic Beam Summer School (EBSS) held at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, from June 23 to June 29. The school aims to introduce students and young researchers to the various facets of the science of exotic nuclei including nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, fundamental interactions, and the application of nuclear science and technology.

WYSE Camp

Daniel helps organize the World Youth in Science and Engineering camp, where high school students will be working on cloud chamber and photodetector experiment in NPRE from June 23 to June 29.
